Description

With help of this Wiki users can view or edit pages about grid initiatives/programs. Basic content types like Person, Organization, Project and GridResource are interconnected with semantic links and contain content-specific information. This wiki focuses on the D-Grid initiative in Germany, but the functionalities and concepts of the wiki are of general interest and can also be applied to other grid initiatives or domains (e.g. medicine).

In contrast to a normal wiki, this wiki offers the facility to edit and create pages based on content types. The creation and edit pages contain simple user interfaces (UI) with autocomplete input fields to easily create or change content. Ontology information like concept properties, is-a or part-of relationships between concepts is automatically generated from the UI input. This information is used to provide different display and analysis capabilities.

The CategoryBrowser gives an overview of all categories used in the wiki. The content types are assigned to their corresponding categories. More information and other display formats (e.g. dynamic trees for project or organization hierarchies, map of organizations) can be accessed within the categories. The Vocabulary category is used to classify vocabulary articles based on their relevance to grids (core, extended, off topic). The vocabulary is a basic glossar of grid related terms/concepts integrated from Wikipedia.

A list generator for dynamic generation of sortable lists completes available capabilities for searching and navigation in content.

Users who have comments or feature requests for this wiki are invited to contribute these to the discussion page of the Main Page.
